Welcome to the Car Wash

Cameron is so helpful......well sometimes.... This week at school they talked about washing cars and the different sponges/wash rags that you use to wash and dry a car. So each night he was coming home asking to help wash our cars.  I promised him that he could help me wash mine as soon as the weekend was here.  So since we were able to get home early I let him wash my car.  It was fun but let me tell you, by the time we finished, we were both soak and wet!

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Father's Day to all the Day's out there.  Cameron was up bright and early to celebrate with Jante'.  He was SO proud of the card that he had made for Jante' that he couldn't wait to give it to him.  In fact on Friday night after school he had the card ready to give to Jante'.  I had to help him understand that Father's Day was 2 days away and he had to wait to wake Jante' up and give him the card.  So on Saturday night I made sure Cameron knew the plan.  He would wait up and bring the card in to Jante' while we were in the bed.  He must have been dreaming about it all night because he woke up before we did (which is not normal) and came in the room screaming "Happy Father's Day Daddy".  If I only had my camera ready...it was such a treat.

It was a day full of celebrating all of the wonderful things that Jante' does for Cameron.  I say it time and time again, I LOVE seeing the two of them together.  Often while eating breakfast or dinner I look at the two of them interacting and it brings joy to my heart.  Jante' is a great husband and I knew he would be a great father but seeing it play out has been amazing.

Here's to great dad's all over the world!

Swim Lessons

Cameron's swim lessons are going great!  Surprisingly he is very attentive with his instructor and listens intently to what he is supposed to do.  Our first lessons are around safety (all summer).  They teach the kids how to always roll over on their back if they happen to fall/slip in the pool.  Another safety focus is around getting to the edge of the pool and pulling themselves up on the side...to get out.  We have some work to do but one thing he is LOVING is jumping in the water.  Here are a few shots from this past week's practice.

Exposure to it All!!!!

Jante' and I have made a commitment that we will try our best to expose Cameron to as much as possible at an early age.  I personally think we have done an excellent job of making sure we do weekly activities with Cameron (either in the house on a rainy day or away from the house on a nice day). But what's very important to us is that we do them together.  Don't get me wrong, Jante' and I both have our one on one time with Cameron and it's great because it allows the other person to have some "me time".  But in our minds it is even more important to do family activities to show him that he is truly the apple of our eye and he means the world to us.

Each month we load our "Glenn Family Calendar" with fun activities (thanks Cozi.com!!) and this summer is no exception.  In fact we have more events on the calendar this summer than ever before!  Because Cameron is getting older we are even more excited because he is so observant and active that he wants to do everything we have scheduled.  This summer we have tons of stuff scheduled.  Family trips, swim lessons, cooking sessions and monthly GA State Park visits are just a few!

Stay tuned for pictures.
