Birthday Bash #2

Our sweet baby was able to have 2 Birthday Parties to celebrate the BIG ONE! The big Carnival Bash that we had in Atlanta and the Birthday Bash that he had with his friends from Creme'. There are 3 babies born one day apart in his class. Cameron was born on the 15th, Charlotte on the 16th and Addison on the 17th of April. The 3 sets of parents have been talking about doing a party for these sweeties for the past 5 months! We didn't want to exclude any of the other kids in the class next to them so we decided to do one big party. As you can see we had tons of fun and tons of food!

Fun at Nana's!!

So as most of you may know by now we are moving back to GEORGIA! We are extremely excited, not only will Cameron get to be around family more often but it will be an opportunity for us to spend more time with friends and family and get back to the great Southern weather! We enjoyed our time in Cinci but really we could not be happier about this move. And I know what you are saying, Is this it?....the answer is YES! I promise no more moves (at least for some time). Jante' will be starting a business and so he said THIS IS IT, NO more moves!
We needed to find a house so we are currently on our House Hunt. While here Cameron has been having the time of his life!!! I have mentioned this before but this baby LOVES the outdoors! Jante' and I both were raised in small cities so being at "Nana's House" and allowing Cameron to spend a great deal of time outside has been fun to watch. Here are a few shots of him while here.

Cameron's 1st Birthday Carnival Bash!!

Fasten your seat belts.....you are about to see all the hard work and planning that went into Cameron's First Birthday Carnival Bash. I apologize in advance for the longer than normal post but I wanted to be able to share all the pictures and work that went into this great Birthday Bash! I really have become one of those parents - the ones that spend months of planning and TOO much $$ to mention on her child's birthday parties. But it was ALL worth it. The party turned out FANTASTIC! We had so many friends and family join us - Great Weather, Great Friends and Great Fun!
Back in November Jante' and I started to talk about what we wanted to do for Cameron's first birthday. We talked about themes and decided on a Circus theme. We knew we would have the party in GA but with this "Circus" theme we didn't know where we would have it. Because I love to scrapbook and make cards I was dead set on doing the invitations but after some research I found a lady (on etsy.com) that had the cutest hand crafted Circus invitations. So I put things into motion. Then about a week or so later we started to rethink our theme. We decided that a Carnival theme would be better than a Circus theme because we could do the whole, cotton candy, popcorn, clown and games like you would find at a Carnival. I found the cutest Carnival themed napkins, cups, etc on orientaltrading.com and we were back in business. But then I realized I was in a tizzy - I had a lady working on Circus invitations for a Carnival party! No worries, she recommended another lady (again from etsy.com) that could take my napkins and create an invitation! I was SOLD! We were back in business. I then found a Cake shop that could take my napkins and duplicate a cake and smash cake to match. My sister in law Renee' went to do a tasting at the shop and loved it. All that was left was for Jante' and I to come up with fun ways to make this party as fun as possible. We decided on game stations where kids could earn tickets (see the Cameron's One tickets) to exchange for prizes at the Red Ticket Tables. In addition to the prizes the kids could exchange their tickets for popcorn, cotton candy and regular candy. We found personalized confetti and balloons at Party City (too cute) and used them on the tables along with framed pictures of Cameron. Since we had 6 tables I framed 12 pictures (one from each month of Cameron's life) and had 2 pictures on each table. The centerpieces were popcorn boxes with candy in them. Here are pics of the party and the cute ideas.

I personally want to Thank all the folks that helped me make this party a hit (Tonya, Renee, Michelle, Tiffany and Aliki especially). Also the makers of Photoshop - the best ever! And last but not least a special Thanks to my Hubby - who honestly put more time and effort into this than I could have ever imagined. You're the best! Now we can get to planning for Birthday Bash #2!

1 Year Check Up

Cameron had his 1 Year check up today and it went great. I wasn't able to take him because I had a meeting that I couldn't miss so Jante' did the honors. Our pediatrician said that Cameron is progressing along exactly where he should. He weighs 22lbs and 3 oz (which was in the 40th percentile). He is 28 1/2 inches long (which was a little on the short side - just like his daddy was when he was little). He still only has 2 "clear" words but the doctor said as long as he is at least babbling and understands what we are saying he is not concerned (and trust me when I say, he is talking up a storm - we just don't know what he is saying LOL!) We continue to practice with him so hopefully he will have more "clear" words soon.
Here are a few shots of him on his Bday!!

Easter Sunday

We had a GREAT day for Cameron's First Easter. We started the day with a home-cooked breakfast made by me (I have been doing much better with cooking). We then got dressed for church - and let me tell you it was a WONDERFUL service. Pastor Darlene showed out today! Then to top it all off I cooked a fabulous dinner. A great end to great day.

Cincinnati Museum

This week for our weekend outing we took Cameron to the Cincinnati Museum. This museum is great. There are 3 museums in one. Because it takes a whole day to do all 3 we decided to take Cameron to the Children's Museum. It's basically a big playhouse for kids. One of the parents in Cameron's class told us about the Children's Museum and how surprisingly there is a ton for infants to do. We had a great time - in fact Jante' and I had just as much fun as Cameron. After about 2 hours we were all pooped!

Sunshine!!!

Woo Hoo, more sunshine! This week has been beautiful - so of course we had to take full advantage of it. Two nights this week we decided to go to the community park. As you can see from the video, I had just as much fun as Cameron! LOL!

Welcome Family and Friends

This Blog is dedicated to all of our Friends and Family who have been there for us through this 9+ month process. We are so excited to share little Cameron's progress with you. We ask that you check back on a regular basis for updates. Thanks for all of the prayers!! We love you.
