Woodward Tailgating

Tonight we had our first official Woodward Tailgate!  The students in the Primary School were able to represent their "sets" in red and black.  They sang the fight song and ran through the banner for the 1st home game.

The grate thing is because we are headed to the beach for our last summer vacation several of my family was here to celebrate with us.  We had more fun than we have had in a very long time.  Laughing, eating and taking pictures!

Tonight we were cheering for our team even though we don't know any of the players......soon I hope that Cameron is out there and we are cheering him to victory!

What a great start!!!

All I can say is WOW!!!!!  As a new room parent mom (whoo hoo) I am seeing some AMAZING things with Woodward Academy.  I'm so impressed with the transition Cameron has made in just 2 weeks! Miss Kathy and Miss Faith are WONDERFUL and they really do love what they do. Because of this the kids are the beneficialires!

They have been very clear with all of the parents and kids of their expectations for the year.  And Cameron is adjusting quite well.  We only had 2 mornings of a few tears (when getting out of car pool.....not wanting mommy to leave) but the other days have been great!

Tonight we got a chance to tour the class room and see some of the work they have been working on (see pictures of what Cameron says his mommy and daddy do for work).

And I have to tell you, Cameron has had homework EVERY night!  Whew!  This is preparation for what he will face in the years to come!

We are all loving it and I pray it continues this way!

Stay tuned for more updates!

And here we go!!!!!

OMG!!!  What a day!  Cameron had an EXCELLENT start to Kindergarten.  No tears (not even from me), no fussing and him actually saying "Mommy can I go back to my new school tomorrow?"  We could not have asked for a more smooth transition.

Here's to 13 years of homework, sports, learning great manners and going from a boy to a young man.

All the best to our sweet boy!

We love you Cameron!

We are Ready!!!!!!

What a week!!!!  I must say it's been a LONG week getting ready for tomorrow.  While it was long we tried to make it as fun as possible.  Between the books, the uniforms (ironed and labeled), the fun activities, good (bad for you) food, the sticker on the car and the back to school fairy visiting I must say we are ready for Woodward Academy.

Never heard of the back to school fairy?  Well let me tell you, this has been the best thing ever!! Like many other parents/kids who are nervous about back to school (or the start of school for Kindergartners) the back to school fairy comes to visit your child (with gifts of course) and notes to help encourage them before the 1st day of school.

The back to school fairy (i.e. Mommy, daddy) rings the doorbell where the child finds a gift from the fairy.  It was better than Christmas!!!! (see video below).

I believe Cameron will be fine but it's Mommy and Daddy i'm worried about!  Wish us luck!!!!
